The Armand cymbal line was created to recreate that vintage Zildjian sound so if you are looking for the vintage Zildjian sound these may be for you. The new shaping techniques create a slightly lower profile than A Zildjians and help to offer a special warm and smooth blend of overtones. Lighter weight specifications promote a fast cymbal response with special lower-pitched overtones without the loss of projection potential. Zildjian left off any protective coating so the cymbal would mellow with age and promote the aged look and patina that cymbals from the '60s would have today. A tighter lathe on top combined with the current A Zildjian lathing on the bottom results in a unique feel. In 2013, Zildjian discontinued the Armand series due to a redesign of the A series cymbals.
This is a set including the following:
20” Armand Ride
16” Medium Thin Crash
16” Thin Crash
14” Hi Hats (heavy bottom cymbal with a lighter top cymbal like the New Beats)
10” Splash
I do not clean my cymbals so there are fingerprints on them. There are no flea bites, cracks or keyholing although I did add a picture of the 16” Medium Thin Crash which appears to have a slight difference in the keyhole but it does not affect the sound. These cymbals sound great and work in almost any situation. They work great in both live and studio settings. Why Zildjian discontinued these is beyond me. Come and give them a listen. Would consider trades for a Zildjian K Kide and K Hi Hats and/or cash difference. No low ballers or tire kickers. If they are listed they are available. Sorry, but no shipping.
