Body is in very good condition and it has been serviced and play tested and sounds like brand new.
Made in the USA with solid brass body made in the Buescher factory after Selmer purchased the factory.
This has an amazing sound because in those days they used a solid brass to give it a nice deep dark rich sound.
This is an oldie but goodie and I like it better than my Selmer Reference 54 tenor sax. The action is better and the sound is better.
This is my go to horn on every gig I play.
Here is my Bio:
I PLAY SAX, CLARINET, FLUTE,
HARMONICA AND UKELLE
And also do some back up vocals

I started playing clarinet in 1951
I learned from Mr. Henri Bernard,
A symphony orchestra conductor, from Germany.
I started playing saxophone in 1952
I joined a classical symphony orchestra
in Boston 1953.
I started playing flute in 1970.
I started playing jazz saxophone with Big Band conductor
Mr. Gerald Cooper at Berkley College of Music in 1978.
I had my own band in 1980 called “Dominic’s Music.”
We played old standards and pop tunes:
Like Beatles, Bob Dylan, Neil Young etc.
We did weddings, private parties and night clubs
in and around the Boston area.
The last band I was with is called
“IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR”
We played all classic rock music.
Their best gig was at the Hatch Shell in Boston.
My last major concert was for a host of
pretty impressive guests,
Including former
President Bill Clinton while he was still in office.
Senator John Kerry
and
Senator Ted Kennedy
were also present.

I Played in the 22-piece John Payne saxophone
choir at the Park Plaza Castle in Boston.
Security was so tight,
The secret service did background checks on each musician
And we had to leave our instruments at the door
to be searched by white house staff
before we could enter the building.
As soon as we started playing
President Clinton pointed to us and yelled
“I love that band. That’s my band”
