I HAVE TWO OF THSE PACKAGES AVAILABLE SO GET IN TOUCH IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THE PAIR.
This is a Warm Audio WA-47 that has been modified by Chad Kelly at Signal Art Electronics. Chad had a big part in designing the WA-47 for Warm Audio and he told me he developed these modifications to bring the mic up to the standard of his his original design for the mic, before Warm Audio cheaped out on components to keep the price down.
The main reason I had Chad do the mods was just to increase the reliability stability of the mic. However I was quite surprised with how much better it sounded as a result. The difference is night and day. The low end became much more controlled/natural and less boomy and overblown. The high end became much smoother and more "vintage" sounding for lack of a better word. Much less hyped and sharp sounding. The mid range became more neutral and true sounding. Less pokey.
You can probably find more detailed info online about what the exact mods are. I believe it's mainly upgrading a lot of the mic circuit/power supply components with much higher quality components for lower noise and better/more reliable performance as well as using an NOS vintage military spec tube (this makes a very audible difference compared to the stock JJ12ax7). I payed about $300-400 per mic to have these mods done.
As I said at the top, I have a pair available as of right now so if you're interested in getting both let me know. One of the mic boxes has some scratches which I tried to make clear in the photos. The other mic box looks almost new. Other than that the cosmetic condition is the same across both sets. These mics have lived in one room for the past several years and have been well cared for.
