Hand carved acoustic electric archtop made in Kalamazoo by Heritage Guitars. This cutaway Archtop was made in 1996, solid carved spruce top, solid flamed maple back sides and neck, 17 inch lower bout, floating pickup, sunburst finish, 25.5 inch scale, x-braced top. Wonderful rich sound, currently set up with flatwound strings, has Levy gig bag. Shows some wear, some work on side at cutaway but overall looks nice and sounds great. Gibson originated the carved Archtop guitar and was the epitome of jazz guitars for decades. After Gibson moved to Nashville and eventually closed the Kalamazoo factory several employees didn’t want to move. Four of them bought the Gibson factory and equipment. With other skilled guitar builders who stayed, they formed Heritage Guitars in 1985 which has been making great high quality guitars ever since. $2950, cash, will not ship.
