A 2015 Yamaha Model P22 PROFESSIONAL STUDIO UPRIGHT PIANO, 45" tall. This has the hard-to-find Satin Ebony finish and matching bench. Unlike all of the older P22 pianos, this has a new type of smooth waterproof finish. From Yamaha's 45" Professional Collection. Although it's only 2" taller than an average Yamaha console upright, this is a better grade of instrument in many respects. Still a current model, with a list price of $7,849. CONDITION: Like new, mechanically and cosmetically. Recently tuned to standard A440 tuning; the action was fully regulated; cleaned inside and out. Excellent tone. The bass strings are actually longer than those on a Yamaha baby grand, so the depth and power of the bass notes is surprisingly good for its size. Very consistent, moderate playing action. One owner. Minimal internal wear. Includes original bench, owner's manual, a felt dust cover for the keys, and a key to lock both the top lid and the keyboard cover.
MODEL P22 was designed to meet the demanding needs of schools and institutions, for a medium-height practice and performance piano, that has a rugged but portable cabinet, excellent tone, a uniformly responsive touch, and high quality action parts, that hold up well under heavy use. The double rubber casters allow you to move it easily on any surface, without damaging the floor. Unlike all of the shorter Yamaha's, the P22 has unbreakable front legs, braced with toe blocks like a full-size upright, instead of the decorative-but-fragile variety. It's been a best-seller among schools and institutions for years, but it's also the first choice of many people for home use, for the same reasons. If you lack the space for a baby grand, and don't want to invest $8000 to $12,000 for a full-size Yamaha upright, this gives you more piano for the money than anything else in its price range.
