Behold the "Blue Lobstah". This 1980 Puch Murray has nice, peppy pick-up. The bike came to us with no headlight or tail light, had disgusting old rusted hunks of junk shocks, had a horribly out-of-true front wheel, and a ratty saddle. So we gave it some updates/upgrades! After some work and parts, she is now a fun and reliable means of transportation. She's been given the appropriate attention to fire-up with ease (half a kick usually) and runs like a champ. The e50 on this performs as it should and it has a 14mm Bing Carb.
Front wheel was replaced with Snowflake Mag.
Here are the brand new parts that have been installed:
(For the most part, everything has come from Treatland.tv.)
Neon Yellow Shocks
Front and Rear Brake cables
Brown Puch Saddle
New Mitas White Wall tires!
In addition, it has a rebuilt carb, the brakes and brake pads are in good condition and has fully functional head and tail lights. Note: the horn has been disabled.
The work has been done for you, but if you want upgrades or modifications, we can help with that too! This thing is zippy and is an excellent way to commute to the train station/work, or to just cruise around on these gorgeous summer evenings. Don't forget that autumn is around the corner, and what better time of year to brap?!
About SHORTBUS BICYCLES, LLC
Our goal is to take bicycles (AND MOPEDS...and other stuff...) out of the waste stream, restore them, and get them into the hands of people who want to ride. When it comes to bicycles, we especially love customizing old steel road bikes, but we sell and service all types of bikes. You can find our short school bus at the Stratfield Farmer's Market on Saturdays or at popups around the area. Contact us for more information on events!
We take pride in our restorations, thoroughly cleaning and waxing each bike and putting on many brand new parts. Each bike is tuned and tested before it is sold so you can be sure the bike is safe to ride.
If you purchase one of our bikes, we will tune it up once per year free of charge. In addition, we are available for repair work and full restorations. Though we do not stock every part, we have the ability to get parts from our distributors very quickly.
We buy bikes and mopeds (and some scooters) and accept trades, so please contact us if you have any you would like to sell. (Please include photos when reaching out to us.)
We are located about 1.5 miles from the Milford train station and are able to bring bikes to South Norwalk Monday-Friday between 7:30 and 3:00 pm.
10% off for students, teachers, nurses, firefighters, police, military, and civil servants!
