Provides comprehensive medical evaluions for MEPS applicants, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, Privacy Act, DoD, and USMEPCOM standards. Reviews medical records, conducts detailed histories and physical exams, interprets diagnostic tests, and identifies disqualifying conditions. Assesses all body systems, determines the need for additional exams, communices abnormal findings to applicants, and updes medical staff for accure dabase documention.

Physician Responsibilities Include:
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and Privacy Act standards, including those set by USMEPCOM, the Department of Defense, and applicable service regulions.
• Conducts thorough medical record reviews, histories, and physical examinions per Department of Defense standards; evalues lab results, ensures accure profiling, and coordines with consultants and Service waiver authorities.
• Evalues diagnostic test results conducted by the MEPS medical department to identify potential disqualifying conditions.
• Performs comprehensive in-person medical histories for applicants who have completed the prescreening process and received authorizion to proceed.
• Assesses applicants for injuries, deformities, defects, and disorders across all body systems, including dental, psychiric, and behavioral, and conducts a standardized orthopedic-neurological exam.
• Determines the need for further physical examinion of identified problem areas.
• Directly informs applicants of abnormal findings through personal consultion or written communicion.
• Conveys updes to medical staff for entry into the USMEPCOM-specific applicant dabase.
• Performs other job-reled duties as assigned
Physician Experience, Educion, Skills, and Abilities requested:
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determinion, as determined by a completed background investigion.
• This position has been designed as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security investigion.
• All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certificion th is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Associion (AHA).
• Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certificion does not supersede BLS completion.
• Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain approprie/relevant clinical privileges.
• A one-year supervisory probionary period may be required.
• Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of onboarding and/or as required.
• Occasional shift work (before 0600 or after 1800 hours) may be required.
• Occasionally, may be required to work Surdays.
• To qualify, you must meet the educion and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
• Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteophic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United Stes or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Educion of the American Medical Associion; the Associion of American Medical Colleges; the Liaison Committee on Medical Educion; Commission on Osteophic College Accredition of the American Osteophic Associion, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Educion the time the degree was obtained. A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must have provided educion and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United Stes. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United Stes is demonstred by permanent certificion from the Educional Commission for Foreign Medical Gradues, a fifth-phway certifice for Americans who completed premedical educion in the United Stes and gradue educion in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examinion.
• Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registrion as a Physician from a Ste, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United Stes.
• After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteophic Medicine degree, a candide must have had least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.
• In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position, you must also meet the qualificion requirements listed below:
• Applicants must possess 3 years of gradue training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using educion completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualificion requirements, you must show the educion credentials have been evalued by a prive organizion th specializes in interpretion of foreign educion programs and such educion has been deemed equivalent to th gained in an accredited U.S. educion program; or full credit has been given for the courses a U.S. accredited college or university.
