Rhubarb plants ready for planting. Plant prices range from $10.00 - $35.00 each depending upon the size (maturity) . These plants are exceptionally robust, very hardy and produce thick, large stalks. Excellent with sugar as we did when we were kids or make great sauces or used with strawberries for pies. I've seen plants a fraction of the size for the same price in local box stores or nurseries. The crowns have just emerged are now ready for planting. These plants are field grown, ready to plant and are not in pots. They are dug up when you arrive to pick them up. The first 2 photos of the emerging plants were taken on April 10th and May 10th respectively of last year. At this stage they develop and grow very rapidly. Now is the ideal time to plant. Suggest you bring a plastic liner or box for your car as these are freshly dug and full of dirt...good dirt. I know you will like what you see. Have a great day.
