This is 1/2 of a sectional. When I bought it, we had to move and i couldn't fit this into our new apartment so I had to put it into storage. Its new, and was only used a few weeks before we moved and it went to storaye so it's still in great shape. We have a cat but I put corner protectors on it and there's no scratches
