The Hitchcock Furniture "Harvest Connecticut Rocker" was designed based on an original model created by Lambert Hitchcock. For antique collectors new to Hitchcock furniture, the backwards N's on the chair became a part of the trademark stenciled look because factory workers who cut their own signature stencils in the 1800's typically couldn't read or write.
This Hitchcock Furniture "Harvest Connecticut Rocker" is in its original form and is very sturdy, comfortable and in excellent condition. It has not been restored, damaged or painted in any way. Dimensions on this chair: 24w, 30d, 41h.This chair is not dated but estimated to be 40 years old. It shows but minimal wear. The back has "L. Hitchcock. Hitchcocksville, CONN Warrantied". Under the seat is stamped "H. C. CO" for Hitchcock Chair company.
The chair comes with two back and seat cushion combinations. These cushions have always been used so as to protect the chair. This is one of the reasons why I am able to say that the chair is in excellent condition. Another reason is simply that the chair has been cherished and meticulously cared for in a beautiful home.
