This Vintage White Milk Glass Compote Dish is a lovely example of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) made by Atterbury & Company between 1850 and 1900. This bowl is in the "Dancing Sailor" pattern with a scalloped lace edge. It is approximately 8 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/8" tall and in excellent condition.

Atterbury & Co. is considered one of the first producers of milk glass and is particularly well known for its covered animal dishes. Later, other companies like Westmoreland and Fenton produced many dishes that used similar patterns to those originally made by Atterbury.
