venue: Saint James Place

In the face of the devastating predictions about climate change, it is easy to fall into comfortable despair and hand-wringing. The speakers for the 39th Annual E. F. Schumacher Lectures have not. They act without regrets.

Sallie Calhoun works towards renewed soil health through a combination of practice at Paicines Ranch, education for a new generation of farmers, investment in carbon sequestration, and a #noregrets approach to philanthropy.

Inspired by the work of Buckminster Fuller, Greg Watson is a leading thinker and activist who has worked in both public and private capacities to create community food systems, renewable energy initiatives, and citizen- designed development programs.

They will speak from their respective experiences on “Actionable Responses to Climate Change.”
