Leaning towards keeping this boat, but if you are really looking for one of these, a sale is possible. I did a lot of work to this boat to get it in the condition it is now. I maintain the boat to assure reliability and trouble free performance. This manufacturer at the time over-engineered the structural design of these boats compared to the other ski boat builders.
Engine is a 351 Commander Marine engine (255hp) with the sought after stainless steel exhaust manifolds. It still performs very well with 819 hours on it, and has new intake hoses, new fresh water impeller, (reinforced bracket for FWP), and a new fresh water strainer (old hoses were fine, replaced due to age of them).
Pertronix ignition system (new spare ignition kit with rotor and module for emergencies if needed), and new ignition wires.
Holley R9392 4 bbl carb has an upgraded primary float bowl with external float adjustment. This makes needle/seat changes and setting float height very easy (10% ethanol pump gas deteriorates them). Ethanol compatible fuel lines and carb accelerator pump have been installed. Mechanical fuel pump still puts out 6 psi and draws over 10 lbs of vacuum with ample flow volume. I purchased a complete new set up for electric 6 psi fuel feed with low oil pressure safety shut off, should ethanol pump gas ever destroy the stock mechanical pump (it effects these as well).
Has a new group 27 marine battery (Aug. 2019) and is equipped with a high mount starter (easy access). 14.5 volts alternator output.
Gauges and charging system work (except clock).
Hull is in very good condition for age with not much UV fading, but has osmotic blistering below the water line (recommend out of water storage when not in use). The blistering is a cosmetic problem and not structural, and commonly occurred in pre 1992 boats used in warmer waters. This one was ordered new by Cypress Gardens. Gel coat has some scratches and dings, but not very many for the age of this boat. Some I have filled and sanded smooth with epoxy resin that reside below the water line.
Swim platform is teak and in decent condition (comes with wood treatment products) and now has reinforced platform mounting bracket supports added to inside stern (braced from the original platform supports to the stern eyelet supports). This ensures that a 250+ lb passenger, or multiple persons can be supported by the platform, especially when swimmers use it as a diving board.
Fuel tank is aluminum 19 gallons and in great condition ( fuel level sender and fuel supply check valve both work).
New bilge blower and ducts, exhaust scuppers, and fresh air intake ducts.
Boat is structurally solid and has newer 3/4" marine plywood floors freshly sealed in spar urethane with rubber backed carpeting. Old flotation foam has been taken out and hull has been open air dried for 10 months. Most older boats have wet foam by now even if never swamped. Humidity and ozone over time can impact the foam.
Stringers were manufactured with the very coarse matting, and even though the core material is softened inside, the shell has enough remaining strength to support the structure adequately. Opening and replacing the core material is not necessary at this time.
Ski pole/engine/trans frame mounting areas are solid and in great shape (aluminum one piece engine/trans/ski pole cradle).
Has a pivoting drivers seat (still have the original factory seat and base if you prefer that one).
Has a working stereo system.
Comes with single axle galvanized trailer with new leaf springs (2000 lb each side), sand blasted/repainted rims and new tires September 2018.
Up for sale only because I do not really need to own it anymore ( I own three boats). I still continue to use it every season. Its a great boat to go and have fun with, whether anchored or towing skiers and tubes. Has all the grunt you need to tow multiple tubes or skiers.
Have several sets of ski's, tubes, vests, and tow lines to go with it if you want them.
Comes with adapter for running engine from a hose fed reservoir (5 gallon bucket), the recommended way to run them when out of the water. Very affordable boat that will provide excellent water recreation.
