Fabulous antique ship's binnacle compass, most likely made by the John E. Hand Co of Philadelphia in the early 1900's. The binnacle is made of copper and brass and comes with a liquid filled compass and an attached compartment with vent for an oil lamp to illuminate the compass at night. The purpose of the binnacle was to protect the compass from the elements and environmental interference. Dimensions: 8.5" wide x 7.5" deep x 10" tall. $325 cash, fcfs, no holds.
