Im not sure how examples of failures in government is working in building an argument for the effectiveness of Congress. Could you explain further?
The past administration had both democrats and republicans. I believe for sometime dems were majority. I wouldn't want anything signed if were at all dangerous, let alone 'less dangerous'.
We vote for candidates based on previous experience and campaign rhetoric. How is it you know how the candidate you voted for would vote on a specific issue? If you do not read it, after it is voted on how do you know what was passed or denied? From reporters or the politicians? How can you have an opinion without having some knowledge of what it is? Are you saying based on campaign speeches you know how they will represent you on specific ideas in the future? Do you want to be involved (ie, call reps, email, protest, organize)? If not why complain about Bush? Trusting politicians doesn't fair to well. As you have pointed out the Bush Admin stunk. Your voice is important.
It is more effective for citizens to stop something before hand then complain about it later. Maybe if we had more people reading the bills and calling senators, getting the facts, we could have stopped many of the GW mistakes. Right or Wrong?
