Little Lady is a petite (36 lbs) pittie mix who is just over 2 years old and needs a good home! Her old owners got her from a pet store and moved away with out her...so fast, in fact, that they didn't stay to tell us anything else about her! Well one thing's for sure: you don't need to go to a pet store to find your ideal companion...we've got plenty of perfect pups right here at ACC! And Lady definitely fits into that category. She has received our medical staff's highest marks on her behavior so far, and does it really surprise you? She is a sweetie. She's scared here (wouldn't take any treats) but will be so great in a home, and is letting it show through so that someone will give her that chance. Please consider adopting this angel!

4 Cats and 1 kitten are missing from the scene of a 5-alarm fire on Chapman Street in Greenfield on November 8th. The description of the cats are as follows:

1- white, blue-eyed domestic short hair, female- answers to "Meep".
1- white, blue-eyed Persian (long-hair), female. Name unknown at this time. Will post names as I get them!
1- Gray/black tiger-striped domestic short hair, male.
1- White with gray patches, domestic short hair (?), sex unknown.

about 2 1/2 wks ago we found out the house we were living in the landlord lost it to the bank....and we had to move immediately.... We looked everywhere to find a home that we could keep our animals... but unfortunitally the only place we could find on such short notice... will only allow us to keep our little dog...not our Boxer...which totally breaks my heart.. she is truely the best dog i have ever owned... she is approx 5 yrs old... she is all white... I just got her rabies fone about a month agao and she is 100% deaf... I rescued her a few months ago... and this sweet thing has def been through alot in her life... she is the sweetest thing in the world i am so affraid i am not goign to find her a home... because she is deaf she is scared of men... however once she warms up to u which is rather quickly once she knows you are not a threat she is amazing... she is excellent with children... and very good with small dogs... but not big ones she is intiminated by them... i really need to find her a good home... and quickly i am running outta time... if you can find it in your heart to open up your hearts and homes to this amazing dog please let me know asap... as of right now i need to find her a home in the next day or 2 because i can not bring her to the new house at all the landlord made it very clear and i have to turn over the keys to the house... I was a resident of 29 Chapman St Greenfield. On Sunday morning our bulding burned. The fire was so intense that not everyone was able to find their pets when they left the bulding. There are several cats missing. One white with blue eyes, a calico kitten, a very large tiger and a fluffy cat with blue eyes. If you should see one please e mail me. Baby Red Eye Tree Frogs are very cute, and only get cuter when they get bigger. They need about a 10 gallon aquarium when babies and about a 20 gallon high or similar tank when full grown. An Exo Terra medium size or similar terrarium cage is perfect for them. Then they need a plant and a small waterdish. They eat live crickets like most other reptiles and amphibians. Our beloved cat "Indra" disappeared one rainy night in late July.
He is a very handsome guy, with white on his face and tummy, lots of grey and a black and grey striped tail. He has striking blue eyes and a distinctive meow as he is part siamese. He is neutered and is micro-chipped so if "scanned" at a Vet's they would be able to find his home!
He is very very friendly, exceptionally sweet, and a great hunter who loves the outdoors. We miss him so much. Please reply if you have seen him or have perhaps kindly taken him in. He disappeared from the Nonotuck Street area.

Our property consists of a few acres and it abuts state property for nice walks in the woods. Our Sandy - she was 14 when she passed away a little over a year ago was a great dog, part yellow lab and part shepherd. We are looking for a dog to keep our family company, my husband and I are self employed and have flexibility with a dog so he/she won't be kept on a lead or in a crate all day long. We like medium to med/large dogs such as lab, retriever, any type of mix - we don't mind a mutt. We would prefer a dog under say age 4 but over 1 year old so that we can spend much of their life with them, but we can be flexible for the perfect fit. I can't imagine why my posting was flagged, and I would appreciate it if whoever is doing the flagging would contact me directly rather than having me go through the trouble of reposting.
When I first rescued Rosie from the kill shelter in Tucson AZ, I had a house with a fenced-in acre lot, a husband and no kids. Now I am a recently- singled mother in an apartment with no yard, and my beautiful Rosie is really unhappy. I walk her 3 times a day (she's really good on a leash), but what she really needs is a fenced-in yard, and somebody with the time and energy she deserves who can work with her. She's an American Bulldog/Pit mix, 65 pounds of love. She is spayed and up on all her shots. She is wonderful with people and kids (she loves my 14-month old son) and she gets along well with cats but does not do well with other dogs - although the two times I had her kenneled, she did fine playing one-on-one. I think it might be a leash thing. She is prone to boredom and separation anxiety, most especially now in my apartment. I feel that the perfect person for Rosie would be a loving, patient person with the resources to train and work with her, who also had a fenced-in yard and no other dogs. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF TAKING MY GIRL TO FIGHT HER.

It's SO true, there's something in this kitten (about 4 months of age) for everyone. He's friendly and outgoing, and won't go run and hide if you have company over. He's much more likely to come marching up in greeting, meeting someone's petting hand with a purr and a rub of the cheek.

If hilarious, inventive, playful, "crazy", active, adventurous, and undaunted spirited kittens delight you, you'll be delighted by "Nutkins", for sure. He's great at thinking up games, giving them his all, sharing them with others, and so forth.

But when he gets tired out, he's the purrfect companion for your pillow at night or your under-the-covers arms; and he'll climb onto your lap if you're sitting doing work, or right up onto your chest if you're lying back reading.

And for the feline and canine members of your family, he's got affections galore. He loves to pile up in a big ol' loving heap with his furry foster friends here; he looks after his foster-brother who's blind; he suckles blissfully at his tolerant older brother-kitten Tunner; and he doesn't attack the senior dog, is almost respectful (unless that tail gets swished right in his face - too tempting not to bat around!). In the photos you can see him in a sleepy warm pile with some older fosters brothers, and looking after his blind foster brother "from under", and wrapped in the embrace of Tunner, and playing with Orange Toy.

Our 501(c)3 rescue charity (which means that donations are tax-deductible) rescued him from a flowerbox in a window in Northern (urban) NJ when he was 3 and a half weeks of age and since that time he's been human-raised and he is fully people-y and domestic. Our no-kill, non-profit organization has vaccinated, tested, and NEUTERED him, so he's ready to go to his permanent loving home; we've done it all for you!

If you are reading this, he has yet to find a home! We are having SUCH trouble placing him, but he's everything anyone could ever want in a kitten and a cat-to-be. He's companionable, energetic, funny, intelligent, affectionate, sociable, sweet as can be; he's brave, spirited, loving with other cats and kittens, good with dogs, I'm sure he'd like all sorts of people, if they were affectionate and gentle with him. Good evening. I have a puppy that I'm unfortunately going to need to put in a kennel for two nights over Thanksgiving as I'm going out of town. I just got him and will be getting his first round of shots within the next week. I'm sure the vet can't booster that quickly (by the 25th), so I was curious as to whether or not a kennel will allow him in. I'm planning on get ALL of his shots...at least, those the vet deems appropriate for his age. He will be four months old by the time he needs to go on his little "vacation." Any POSITIVE thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

P.S. A pet sitter is not an option with a puppy..at least in my mind...I feel as though it's just not fair to leave the little cutie alone with only the occasional visit!

Jake is a ten year old brown field spaniel. He is solid brown with a small white area on his chest. A field spaniel resembers a cocker spaniel with long penduous ears and a short stubby tail. He was lost on 9/26/09 at the Berkshire Veterinary Hospital at 730 Crane Ave., Pittsfield, MA.
Jake was seen in the area of the Berkshire Hills Country Club, Allengate Ave., Bossidy Dr., Springside Park, Unkamet Park Dr, and possibly by Harry's Market by Wahconah St. & Pecks Road.

I volunteer with the Homeless Cat Project (HCP) out of Spfld. MA. HCP pays for trap neuter, return (TNR) They cannot use their limited funds for any aftercare of these poor homeless cats if some health issue should come up. I have been feeding a poor stray for some time, and his mouth always bothered him. He would salivate all the time and get debris like dirt and leaves stuck all over his mouth. He could no longer eat dry food, and I thought a juicy wet food with chunks would be best. WRONG! the chunks would hurt his mouth when he ate. I think they were getting stuck on the side of his mouth. I then started putting dry, wet and water in a blender and making a souplike food. He would lap that up, but you could tell it hurt still. I would go down 2 times a day, becuase that is all he could eat.. Well, I trapped the guy (Handsome guy is his name) I had to give him an ego boost. He is now at Eastfield Animal Hospital. He had to have a full dental.. He can now eat like there is no tomorrow! But they found out he was also anemic. He is to have 3 weeks of antibiotics. If he stays animec he will be too cold!! out there.
The donations from a few people I was counting on fell through for reasons, and I just cannot pay for the entire bill. If anyone would like to make a donation towards Handsome Guy please let me know. He is totally feral, so he is going back outside. He has a safe place where he is. He has been there for 10 yrs. and he wants to go back. He has very nice shelter and food all the time. I will transition him to being back out, so as to thicken up his coat.

GOLDIE is an 8 yo spayed German Shepherd mix. Back in 2004, she was adopted from the Manhattan shelter but unfortunately on 10/30/09, she was found abandoned in an empty apartment. Goldie is beautiful ....inside and out. She weights 42lbs and is healthy looking. Her coat is thick and her eyes beautiful and intelligent. She has an excellent behavioral testing.

Goldie is a gentle, calm and affectionate dog. She is extremely well behaved and waits patiently and daily at my feet for a piece of my Danish or cheese sandwich. Goldie is good on the leash, walks at a nice pace if needed, is housebroken and very civil to all types of dogs met on the street or in the park.

Goldie would be a great family dog or a great companion to a couple or single person. She has a lot of love to offer. She is a faithful and loyal pet, the one who will be waiting for her owner's return, behind the door, the one who will be there to share the joys and mend the sorrows of her masters.

Most of you may already know this but for those of you who dont I want to share some info with you .
You can cut cost a lot on advantage and frontline by purchasing 1 tube of advantage or frontline for extra large dogs THE ORIGNAL FORMULA NOT K9
1 tube sold single at a vets is around 15.00 you will need 1 tube for extra large dogs of front line or advantage original not k9 , 1 small glass bottle with a good sealing cover , And 1 needless syringe , you take the tube and squeeze the entire thing into the glass bottle , then take the needless syringe and measure the exact dose by weight of your cat or dog and apply it to the back of the pets neck, I will include a link that shows you and explains how this works . For instance you can get up to a 6 months supply for a cat under 9 pounds by using just one tube and dividing it and storing the rest, I know they sell the whole kit on ebay for under 25.00 it includes the medicine , the glass vial and the needless syringe but I have to stress to you , If you are planing on buying from ebay make sure it is a seller from the USA and not over seas some sellers state they are from the USA but are not and the frontline and advantage is a completely different formula it is a actual pesticide and it can kill your pet , Your best bet is to buy directly from a vet 1 tube for about 15 and the vet may even supply you with the marked syringe and glass bottle, Here is the link to explain how this works and the dose chart http://www.lisaviolet.com/cathouse/advantage.html

Also if your pet has fleas then it most likely has tape worms all it takes is the pet to clean it self and swallow just one flea to start the worm process , You can also buy the worm medicine from the vet it is usually 2 pills treat for the fleas one day next day give the first worm pill 3 weeks later give the second dose of worm pill , As far as I know the only place to get the worm pill for tape worms that actually works is from a vet ,

Another type of worms that is common in pets is round worms and a lot of kittens and pups are already born with them they get it from the mothers milk
and also if you cat or dog hunts and eats birds or rodents they most likely have round worms , You can get the liquid round worm medicine over the counter even at walmart with out a vet prescription,

Round worm are more easy to detect then tape worms you may be able to see the worms in the pets poo sounds gross as heck but it can look like strings or spaghetti in the poo .

Tape worms are much more hard to detect like I said if your pet has or had fleas there more likely then not have tape worms , You cant really see the tape worms but they do leave a residue on and around the bets behind that can look like small flattened grains of rice . I am sorry to have to use food to explain what they look like but it is the only thing I can think to compare it to.

The reason I happen to know all this is because I have rescued many cats and have spent much money on tape worm round worm and flea medicine and my vet told me about how to cut cost on the meds and once the pets are treated for the worms and then treated every 28 days with the flea meds after 2 months your pet should be flea free worm free and your home will also be flea free it is just a metter of breaking the cycle and keeping up with the flea meds every month but as I explained you can get up to a 6 months supply of flea meds for a cat for around 15.00 dollars .

If you have a pet that is not spayed or neutered you can do so and save a lot
in a couple different ways , There is a program call "cat snip" for cats and dogs that cuts cost for there surgery I am not sure the price right off hand but it is a voucher and it includes the office visit, there vaccines,the sedation and the surgery , You do need to check with the vet first and ask there policy on if the pet has fleas or worms and what if any is the additional cost for treating that.

another is called "SNAP" spay and neuter assistance program .

And another is called care credit it is basically just what its called you get a estimate from the vet for what ever the pet needs whether surgery or meds you apply for the care credit and if your approved it is just like a credit card for pets care.

I hope someone will find all this information useful and they will be able to save some money caring for there pets .

Her attituded sucked so bad that we left and NEVER went back. We then got wonderful puppies from a breeder who breeds to better the breed, not for profit. I'm glad she was such a jerk to us.

Looking for a new home for my 7 year old, fixed, female flop-eared rabbit. She has always been a house rabbit, so I am looking for someone who will keep her indoors. There will be a small adoption fee. She will come with food, bowls, timothy hay, salt licks, her "cage" and other supplies. She had a male companion for a few years, but he passed away. She was tolerant of him.

Need to rehome her due to relocation. Looking for someone who understands the "bunny-proofing" required. Can send pictures to serious inquires.

I will require a home visit, to insure she isn't going to be food!
