The Pioneer Valley Pickers and Grinners will hold their Country Music Jamboree, Saturday July 26 at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall 222 College Highway Southwick, MA (2.3 miles South of our usual location). The Resurrection Airmen Band takes the stage from 7 PM to 8 PM. The Resurrection Airmen perform traditional and original country, bluegrass and Gospel music with a special emphasis on Texas tunes from Bob Wills to George Strait. The Airmen then head for the hills to pick on Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt and Earl Scrugs. The Resurrection Airmen feature five string banjo, resophonic and pedal steel guitar, six string guitar and Bass Fiddle with heap of down home country humor on the side.

Kind of growing into a interesting manifestation. Been working on it back and forth with a buddy in worcester. I have been coming up with little recordings that I'd like to expand to a whole different place(I have about 15-20 songs that are at least a little bit complete). Using Mac and PC. Have a place to play, but a space would be nice. Not afraid to get loud(not screamy, this is not a metal project, nor will it ever be), or extremely spaced out, childlike, and/or magical.

Have you always wanted to learn to play congas and percussion? I am currently teaching private lessons in Afro-Latin drums and percussion from my home studio in Hadley, MA. I teach the authentic instruments and rhythms of Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil and more. My curriculum covers both traditional folkloric rhythms, and applications to modern musics such as pop, jazz, funk, salsa, reggae and more.

You will learn the proper technique for creating the various sounds on the drum; the traditional rhythmic repertoire of the congas; as much or as little western theory and notation as is necessary, and applications of what we study in the class to real-life playing situations.

I have studied with master percussionists in the New England area, and also at the Conjunto Folkl�rico Nacional de Cuba in La Habana, and at the Bal� Folcl�rico da Bahia in Salvador, Brazil. For the past 17 years I have been gigging with a wide variety of bands in the New England region, and I have also been accompanying Afro-Latin dance classes. I am currently the musical director of Grupo Folkl�rico Palo Santo (http://www.GrupoPaloSanto.com).

I have been teaching Afro-Latin drumming and percussion since 1991 in both ensemble classes and private lessons. I have also taught special workshops at many of the region�s colleges. I can teach all abilities, from people with no previous musical training to veteran musicians who are looking to learn something new.

The cost for private lessons is a very reasonable $15 for a one hour lesson. The cost for these lessons is so low because teaching is very important to me, and I am committed to making this music as accessible to as many people as I can.

Hello, my name is Nicolas Gingras, I am a 22 year old keys+synth player. I have a strong background in jazz and jamming, but I beleive in strong concise songwriteing. Strong vocals are a MUST, I'm not a professional I have lots a room for improvement. All the same, please dont waste my time if you dont have your chops up, i'd like to work with competant musicians. Ideally singer/songwriter musicians are what I'm looking for, you need to have some sort of voice as I dont fancy myself a lead singer though I can sing backup with high confidance.

Pinback is my favorite band, I have played in several bands in several genres over the years and I think pinback takes the cake. I have seen them live once and they sound exactly like their cds. I currently play for a indie/Funk band called the glisten effect. My loyalties remain with this band, but I am interested in seeing who else out there would care to play some pinback, or write in a style similar.

we are to putting together a funky/spacey electronica ensemble, looking for another creative synth player to join us to jam, compose , perhaps play live. Currently I have some synths and am working with a V-drummer. The idea is to be more 'LIVE' than just programmed/laptopped. Possible vocalist and others in the wings , but it would be great to have another synth player. We Practice in Deerfield, in a good space. (usually Thurs)So far a lot of improv around some core ideas, alternating dance beats and space jams.working on compositions.
Currently i have 4 synths but would rather have other people's input than do an electrical engineering-solo thing. Think Chemical Bros. , Tosca , fc kahuna, Meat beat manifesto and Sounds from the ground, combined with older 80's new wave dance tunes- T-heads , OMD , etc . Who knows what will really happen? We (The Scratches) are in need of a new female vocalist. Our vocalist had to quit unfortunately due to time constraints. We are a vaguely classical-inspired original "chamber rock" group with a moody, romantic sound based on mandolin, marimba, and piano. We have released one full-length CD on a local label.

Having some type of classical and/or musical theater training would be helpful.

We do know that while we're not looking for a clone of our previous vocalist, someone too twangy, bluesy, or brassy probably wouldn't fit well with our sound.

~Must be UNDER 30!!! Preferably my age

I'm open to all musical influences, I think I'm going for a mix between:
Pinback, Chicago, Beatles, Ben Folds, Michael Jackson, Classic Rock & New Rock. Or thats whats my songwriting will be like, my older songs are more indie-rock.
I have played in a lot of bands, with ranging styles. Its super important to write your parts to fit together as a collaborative band. Know how to play your part, don't try to BE the band. I have played in punk bands, reggae, ska, indie,funk, classic rock, cover bands, folk, techno, acoustic.
I want to focus on song writing rather than "jamming", but if you know how to jam thats a plus.
