Hello,

My name is Nick and I'm interested in spending time with your kids; after school, before school, in the evenings or on the weekends.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself: I was born and raised in New York City, where my regular playground was the American Museum of Natural History. After I graduated from Bronx Science, I attended Hampshire College in Amherst. After three semesters I decided to take some time off from school to learn a little more about the world.

I started working with the special education population as a teacher's assistant in the public school system in New York. My main responsibilities were to maintain order in some very chaotic situations. I would be a good fit for children or adolescents with special needs.

After the end of the semester I took another job working with special needs students, this time back in Amherst. The Hampshire School-to-Farm Program was very different than the overcrowded New York classroom. The program had six students, each getting one on one attention as they learned both general curriculum subjects as well as woodworking, gardening and animal care, which were my focuses.

I lived in the Valley up until April of 2006, when I went down to New Orleans to volunteer with Common Ground Relief. I've spent most of my time since then as an unpaid relief worker. I started out working as a house gutter, soon was leading my own crews and ended up as the coordinator of the main volunteer site of 200+ people. I returned back to New England this last April and worked in agriculture and with children over the Summer and Fall.

What I'm getting at is that I have a great deal of experience working both with children and in situations where I have to keep my cool, stay positive and try to keep others safe and happy.

I'm a 22 year old male, I love to cook, be silly, play the guitar and sing and I love children. I am interested in making guitar/musicality lessons a part of my babysitting if you are too.

I would also love to know more about your kids. I am ideally looking for a family who can give me semi-regular hours each week, but no job is too small for me to consider (or for that matter, too big). I will be around for some of August (my band is going on tour), and all the time starting in September. I live in Leverett, but I'm willing to travel. The Williston Northampton School Children Center strives to provide stimulating, nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Our center is designed to provide quality care and early education to children aged eight weeks to five years old. It allows children a safe opportunity to explore, question and discover through play. Through such play the children develop cognitive, social, literacy communication, motor and language skills. We have four classrooms: one infant, one toddler, and two preschool rooms. The capacity of the center is 44 children. There are a total of 11 staff members who are certified through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), our licensing agency.
